Who we are
Football Rankings runs this site and publishes its work on Patreon. For anything this page describes, we are the ones responsible, and the way to reach us is at the end.
What the server records
When your browser asks for a page, the server writes one line about the request: the address it came from, the page asked for, the time, the name your browser gives itself, and the page you came from if your browser sends it. That is the ordinary record every web server keeps. We use it to keep the site running and to notice abuse, and for nothing else.
Those lines are kept for fourteen days and then deleted. Nobody else receives them.
Cookies
Arriving here sets no cookie. If you press the theme button, the site keeps one cookie, named theme, which holds the single word light or dark so that your choice is still there next time. It lasts a year, it identifies nobody, and nothing reads it but this site. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
The people who work on the site sign in to a staff area behind this page. Signing in sets a session cookie and a form-protection token, and the staff area remembers a sidebar and a league; failed sign-in attempts are counted against the address they came from for fifteen minutes. None of that reaches a visitor.
What we do not do
- No analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising, on this page or any other of ours.
- Nothing is loaded from anyone else: the fonts, the icons, the flags and the pictures all come from this site.
- We never sell, rent or hand over anything about a visitor.
Patreon and the social networks
The links to Patreon, X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook and Discord take you to those services, whose own policies apply from the moment you arrive. We see nothing of what you do there.
If you become a member, Patreon tells us your name and email address so that we can deliver what you joined for and answer you. We keep that within Patreon's own tools, use it for nothing else and share it with nobody.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to our keeping it. In practice, for a visitor, that is a line in a log that disappears on its own within two weeks; for a member, it is what Patreon holds, which you also control there. If you believe we have handled anything wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If what the site records changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top says when.
